As a stay at home mom, getting mail is so exciting! I’m always ordering goodies from Amazon or other online retailers but sometimes it’s nice to get a box of surprises! This is where the Sephora Play box comes in!
So, I got my first Sephora play box a few days ago and I wanted to share what I thought! I’m not new to subscription boxes, I’ve tried Ipsy and Birchbox in the past. I was never impressed with either of those two, but I found out about the Sephora Play box a few weeks ago, and had to give it a shot! I actually did kind of like Ipsy. I liked the bags they send every month and I liked some of the products, but I didn’t like that most of it was brands I’d never heard of.
So far, that’s not an issue with the Sephora Play box. Check out everything I got!
First, I want to say that the box it comes in is so fun and vibrant that it makes you excited to get it open and see what’s inside! I also like the little drawstring bag that all of the products came in, super cute! But anyway, onto the beauty products..
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel – Clear
I’ve never used a brow gel, but I tried this one out this morning and I like it so far! It holds my hairs in place and keeps my brows looking sculpted all day without having to use any other brow products. I really like this because I’ve been trying to grow out my natural brows and stop filling them in! I’d say it’s definitely something I’ll be purchasing in the future, and I do appreciate the decently sized sample, too!
Make Up Forever Artist Rouge Lipstick – C211
If you love creamy lipsticks, you’ll love this one! I was pleasantly surprised with the color, since with Ipsy I always got browns that I’d never wear. This Make Up Forever lipstick in C211 is a soft rosewood shade with a smooth satin finish. It’s amaze-balls! If you love mauve-y shades, you’ll love this too!
Living Proof T.B.D. Multi-Tasking Styler
Let’s just preface this with saying that I have incredible frizzy, coarse hair. I always have and it’s something that a lot of products just can’t control. That said, I didn’t have very high hopes with this styler, and it didn’t get rid of all of my frizz but it definitely helped. I used it on my blow-dried hair before I used my flat iron and my hair is definitely smoother and softer than usual. I don’t know that I’d purchase this, though, since I get similar results with less expensive leave in conditioners.
Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer
This bronzer is super popular, so I’m sure you’ve heard of it. I have but I never actually tried it. I’ve been wanting to, but since bronzer lasts so long and I have a few others, I haven’t seen the point in spending money on yet another bronzer. I will be purchasing this, though, and getting rid of my others bronzers. This Benefit Cosmetics bronzer blends better than any I’ve ever used and it applies so smoothly! AND it’s matte, so NO SHIMMER! 🙌🏻
Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay
I’m a mask-a-holic! I have at least 15 face masks in my stash at all times, and I use them at least 3-4 times a week, sometimes daily. I’ve never used a mask by Origins though before, so I was really excited for this one! Not surprising, because I love masks so much, I love this one too! It left my face feeling so soft and radiant! I’ll be buying a full size bottle!
OUAI Repair Shampoo & Conditioner
I am so picky with shampoo and conditioner. I got roped into the Monat thing at one point and I’ve used both drugstore and salon products over the years, it’s so hard for me to find a shampoo and conditioner I like. I have scalp psoriasis and it’s very finicky and can easily get worse if I’m not using a good shampoo. Because of that, I wasn’t expecting much with this set and I was right. It really dried my hair out and I wasn’t a fan of the smell – the conditioner smells amazing but the shampoo smells like Dial soap. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have really greasy hair.
Overall, the Sephora Play box is WELL worth the $10 a month in my opinion and I’ll be keeping this sub box! I loved getting to try new things and I love that it’s brands and products I know and love!
All opinions are my own, this post was just all in fun and I wasn’t rewarded in any way for this post!
