Last week I shared my weekly cleaning schedule with you, and everyone loved the simplicity of it and I know a lot of you were going to start implementing it this week. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out here!
On top of my weekly schedule, there are a few tasks that I complete every day the keep my entire house clean and functioning until the next dedicated day of cleaning for that area. These tasks are simple, obvious tasks that most people do on a daily basis anyway, but I figured I’d share it with you because I had a few people ask!
It’s a no brainer that dishes need done at least once a day. I’m not blessed with a dishwasher, so I wash all of my dishes by hand. I try to do a load at lunch and again after dinner, but sometimes they only get done once a day. No matter what though, I make sure I reach sink zero (empty and clean) at least once a day. The kitchen just doesn’t feel clean when the sink is full.
I vacuum my main living areas every single day, including my kitchen and bathroom. I have a small vacuum that is perfect for my bathroom and is so much faster than sweeping. Vacuuming just keeps the dirt being tracked in from outside at bay and ensures the floors don’t get too filthy between deep cleaning/moppings.
A few times a day, I walk around my house just picking up things out of their place and putting them away. It doesn’t take long and it keeps my house looking neat and welcoming. I have four kids, so there are always toys and other things out of place and those things can add up quickly and turn into a bigger mess. Tidying up a few times a day actually makes your cleaning easier.
I don’t do laundry daily. I’ve tried doing a load a day in the past, but it’s just too much for me, mostly because I absolutely despise doing laundry. I do put in a load every other day, though. Sometimes I do two loads every other day, just depends on my needs that week. Doing laundry means washing, drying, folding and putting it away! Don’t leave it in baskets, we all know it never gets put away if we leave it for “another time”. Just get it done, you’ll thank yourself later.
The last thing on my daily schedule is to wipe down my kitchen counters, dining table (after every meal), bathroom sink/counter, toilet and any mirrors in my house. This keeps everything nice and clean and ensures you don’t have things piling up on your counters, especially in your kitchen.
As you can see, my daily tasks are quick and they don’t take a lot of time, but they do help me keep my house clean and home-y feeling. I’d love to know your daily schedule and if it differs much from mine! Share yours in the comments!
I also get a lot of questions about my favorite cleaning products, so I’ll be sharing those soon, too! Keep your eye out.
